Thankyou Diana. I loved looking at your art blog and it seems we have a lot in common. I am a native Nova Scotian from Dartmouth and I love yoga also! I moved to the West Coast , Vancouver Island around 15 years ago and sometimes go home to N.S. to visit my family there. I am envious of your obvious success in the art world. I have only been painting for around 3 years but it is very hard to get started in galleries here. My dream is retire and paint full-time and cruise in our dream boat the coastal waters of B.C!
I am a basically self-taught artist experimenting with different mediums and methods of expression. All types of art appeal to me at some basic level but generally I am drawn most towards wildlife art and any subject where light and dark can be expressed. Every day that allows for some artistic expression is a happy day for me.
Buy my art at Imagekind!
Check out my gallery at Imagekind - an easy, inexpensive way to acquire prints of some of my favorite paintings found in this blog. I will periodically be adding further images, so check back often.
PET PORTRAITS IN PASTEL
I love to paint animals of any type, but particularly love painting family pets. I do all my portraits in pastel on suede matboard which is a wonderful support for creating realistic pieces of art which will last a lifetime. Please contact me at lyurge@telus.net if interested in commissioning a portrait of your wonderful pet.

Gorgeous! I can feel the warmth of the sun, hear the gentle wash of the waves. Leaves me feeling very peaceful...
